Resolved:
MeFiNo will now move on to turn 305 with majority consent of the players.
Explanation:
Following judgements during turn 304, people's consent to moving on to turn 305 got scattered all over multiple threads. Please clear up confusion by voting again.
Under whose authority have you opened a vote, ctmf?
You are currently operating against the express ruling of the most recent judgment. Perhaps you are living in an anarchist utopia, but this game operates under the rule of law. Please refrain from countermanding the orders of the current judge in future, lest you face the gravest, umm... well, just don't do it, m'kay?
I order that this vote immediately be closed, and its results ignored, as per my most recent ruling..
So it is written, so it shall be done.
212 clearly states, "When Judgment has been invoked, the next player may not begin his or her turn without the consent of a majority of the other players."
I also think you're wrong with statement from other threads like "a game tradition has developed that all future judges should duly note in their own judgments," which is also explicitly in violation of 212's "New Judges are not bound by the decisions of old Judges."
So I think ctmf is opening this vote per the rules. And I'm voting Yes.
I consent to moving on.
I object to calling the counting of players who have consented to moving on a "vote."
The majority consent. "Vote" closed. Vote on 305 reopened.
Substitute your favorite word for "method of determining if the majority of people consent" for "vote" above, if desired.
jay: 212 also states "All decisions by Judges shall be in accordance with all the rules then in effect; but when the rules are silent, inconsistent, or unclear on the point at issue, then the Judge shall consider game-custom and the spirit of the game before applying other standards."
The rules are not silent on requiring majority consent to start the next turn following a judgement. Your ruling on that point was not only illegally contrary to Rule 212, but also illegally considered a question about which players did not disagree (unless you yourself disagreed and invoked judgement on that issue without so stating.)
