Creating An Account
Register with BlogShares
Membership on the site is free, though additional features are available to those who upgrade to Premium Membership. Follow the simple steps below to get started in the game.
Registration Steps
- In the "Members Area" Box on the right side of the screen, click on the "register now" link or just click here. This link takes you to a sign up page
- Please note the caution at the top of the registration page: Only one account is allowed per user. Breaking this rule may result in BSEC action.
- Individuals may sign up for one and ONLY ONE login on the site. This is a standard caution, even if you have only registered one time. Everyone sees the warning note on the registration form, and it stands to warn new players against registering twice.
- Be sure to read all the Rules prior to game play. You don't want to end up a CHEATYPANTS!
- Enter a valid email address (you will need to confirm your registration before beginning). If your confirmation link doesn't work, send email to support@blogshares.com.
- Fill in a first and last name. Choose your real name or be creative. It's up to you what nickname you use. Past usernames remain visible to all users, so choose carefully. If you do not want your real name to be displayed, please choose an alias.
- (optional) Claim a Blog: If you want to begin the process for Claiming Your Blog, enter the URL in the next space.
- Choose a password, and type it again to confirm it.
- Read the Terms and Conditions, and check the box to affirm your understanding.
- Click Register. The confirmation page will display the results of your registration.
- Check Your Email. The BlogShares system will send you an email (from support@blogshares.com) containing important information about your account. When you receive it, follow the instructions, and click on the confirmation link provided. Your registration will be confirmed. If you have a problem, or receive an error, post your problem on the Technical Support board in the forums to get assistance.
- Login and Begin! Use the login box on the right-side of any page on the site to enter your email address and password. Once you are logged in, you are almost ready for play. Be sure to check the Rules first, and then move on to the rest of the help wiki pages if you need some guidance. Again, if you are having trouble logging in, please send email to support@blogshares.com. Include all information you used to sign up.
Members Area
- Once logged in, you'll notice the Members Area box on the right-side of the page, showing information about your account. A free account is limited to 20 share transactions and 20 Idea transactions per day.
- Purchasing a Premium Membership costs less than 5 US pennies per day, and removes transaction limits for one full year. Until that time, you can keep track of your current transaction totals in this area.
