Corporations

Corporations are a way to make a team or club with other players in Blogshares to enhance game play or to accomplish a specific task. There are many different types of corporations (corps. for fun, for profit, etc). There are also advantages to being part of a corporation.

Founding a Corporation

Premium players can found up to 10 corporations. Non-premium players are limited to joining corporations only.

In order to create a corporation, click on the [Corporations] link on the sidebar. This brings you to your corporations menu. Next, click on the [Create a New Corporation] link. This brings you to the Create Corporation page:

• Corporation Name
  • This is where you write what you want the name of your corporation to be.

• Description
  • Enter a short description of what your corporation is all about.

• Enter a Color for Header Text
  • Write what color you want the header for your corporation to be.

• Enter a Color for Description Text
  • Write what color you want the text for your corporation to be.

• What do you want your Founder to be called?
  • If you want people in your corporation to know you as El Gran Jefe, Dictator for Life, then write it here.

• What do you want your Administrators to be called?
  • These are your helpers. Give them a cool name like the Mod Squad.

• What do you want your Privileged Members to be called?
  • These are the people in your corporation who are a step above the rest.

• What do you want your Regular Members to be called?
  • These are the basic members of your corporation. Don't forget to give them a good name too...or, just call them members.

• Would You Like To Link A Corporation Flag?
  • Got a great looking image that you want people to associate with your corporation? Well, then put the url for the image in this box.

• Enter A Custom Motto Or Saying
  • Know a great, pithy saying? Put it here for your motto.

Once all of this information has been entered, click the [Change] button at the bottom of the menu. This will bring up the Confirm Settings page:

Take the time to review the settings that you have chosen. Once you are finished reviewing your settings, click on the [Confirm] button. This will take you to your new corporations homepage:

Joining A Corporation

Members can join an unlimited number of corporations. In order to join a corporation, go to the Blogshares Corporations Page. This page lists the 5 official Blogshares corporations and the 200+ user-created corporations.

Once you are on the corporations page, spend some time looking through the corporation descriptions. When you find a corporation that interests you, click on the link that is the name of the corporation.

This will bring you to the corporation's main page. On this page you will find some text that says "Would you like to join?" and a link that says "Request Membership". Click on the link. That will bring up the request membership field at the top of the page:

At this point, enter a motto into the text field. Remember that you cannot use html or bbcode in your motto. Then click on the [Request Membership] button.

At this point, a message will be sent to the founder of the corporation, who will then decide if you should be added to the corporation or not.

Benefits of Joining A Corporation

Corporations have the ability to hold and send Chips independent of their members. Also, corporations pay interest on cash that members invest in the corporation, but only if that corporation is the member's primary corporation.

Corporations are great if you like to engage in cooperative play. Getting various players from the same corporation to "team up" on a blog is a lot of fun and can be very rewarding financially.

There are several corporations out there that are designed to help out newer players. If you want to know how to get the edge on playing the Blogshares game, one of the veterans in the new player corporations will be able to help out.
