Time To Grow

A Spork Convention will be called in the forums to discuss ways to grow the Spork Community in light of recent participation slowdowns. No decision will be acted upon without the explicit participation of at least half the Spork players.

I know I've brought this up before, but I'm worried that Spork is slowly dying. I'm starting a pretty time-intensive project this week and I personally won't be able to participate very much, and I'd hate to see Spork go.

Maybe not-so-slowly dying.

I like the convention, I dislike the restrictions, today.

Let's do a Projects post on Friday about both nomics. Somebody might frontpage it. I was thinking something like:

311. A player is one free-willed human [Metafilter] member voluntarily playing the game of [MeFiNo Nomic], and this insuperable definition may only be changed by modifying this rule.

"Nomic is a game in which changing the rules is a move... Even this core of the game, of course, can be changed." -- Peter Suber, The Paradox of Self-Amendment.

See also its spin-off nomic, [Spork], with [multiplayer chess], [global thermonuclear war], [inter-player contracts and banking], and no mefi membership requirement. Both games are open to new players, so grab a plate of your favorite beans and join the overthinking.

That looks good to me. We can vote this down and just informally empower you to do it.
