This poll is not sanctioned by any rule, nor has it been requested by a judge. Game custom has been that moving on to the next turn is allowed and expected, with players' implied consent indicated by lack of objections.
I urge all right-thinkers to not vote in this poll.
The poll is necessary, however, unless we want to wait another ~46 hours per Chuck's "May consent be implicit?" ruling (last judgment having been delivered at 10:31 AM PDT).
I bet if we just ignored that part of the judgement nobody would notice.
So now we can pick and choose from judges' statements, hmm?
It is one possible method of expressing consent, and using the poll to express consent is one legitimate method of doing so. In fact, it seems to be a particularly convenient way of doing so. The poll is not the only possible method of expressing consent.
No, it's not. People may give explicit consent to move on simply by posting a comment to that effect. The poll is convenient, but not necessary.
We should also ignore the "Aaron A. Aaronson is not expelled from the game" judgment, which was clearly written by a delusional, glue-sniffing, self-appointed "judge" who is entirely ignorant of game custom.
AAA, for the umpteenth time, there is no "custom", there is no "tradition", there are only rules.
And thank you, ssg, for giving us a focal point to come to a legal consusus.
Right, right. Helpful, not necessary. AAA, I'm liking your new judicial insubordination streak. Maybe you're crossing over to the rational side of the judicial reform debate?
jay, only a fascist or schizophrenic would deny that we have tradition and custom. Why do you want to turn us all into automatons, and destroy the rich culture we have built here together??
You mean our rich culture of glue sniffing?
We now have explicit consent from a majority of players, so we can move on to turn 309.
We now have explicit consent from a majority of players, so we can move on to turn 309.
That's outrageous. That has nothing to do with the rules. Anyway, you don't have unanimity. Your supermajority means nothing!
Not that unanimity would mean anything. Let's get a judge in on this or else everyone needs to vote. Plz stop trying to hijack our process, ssg.
Or does one of those S's stand for SCALIA!?
1, what are you talking about? Consent polls are perfectly legal. And they've never required unanimity.
I think this poll by ssg is probably the very most legal way we could have done it.
All this reality-based argument from volkspider and jay make my victory so much more challenging.
Glue fumes, you know.
