Is tallus playing, and therefor a player?
More than 48 hours ago tallus last posted, "I can't open the discussion with my proposal..."
The possible verdicts:
1. Tallus is a player and will win by paradox.
2. Tallus is a player and has an indefinite amount of time to post a proposal.
3. Tallus is a player and has a reasonable amount of time to post a proposal. [3b. How long?]
4. Tallus is not playing and is not a player.
ssg, I ask you to please recognize that you are clearly the judge of this invocation. It's been days since you took your points; tallus has acknowledged it is his turn and that he is willfully delaying posting the discussion forum [for reasons that aren't very good, but that's neither here nor there].
The player preceding the one moving is to be judge and decide the question. There is no sense in which you can be said to be the player moving. The most reasonable interpretation of 313 in this situation is that you are the judge, and for what it's worth this is also the determination that shelleycat, the only other possible judge, has made.
It wouldn't hurt for shelleycat to pop in and say "what ssg said" after the decision.
Maybe not, but it's ssg's insistence that he isn't the judge that has caused the delay in the first place. Whether he has the right to or not, tallus is demanding a judgment on his earlier invocation before he even posts a draft of the proposal. If ssg concedes he is the judge that demand is met.
Actually, I like gerryblog's idea that I should invoke on these questions. If I am not the judge, which I still maintain, then shelleycat must judge the invocation. If shelleycat won't accept that she is the judge, she still must judge the invocation. Since this seems to be an area that we can't really agree on, and having the next turn start immediately after the previous players takes their points is a situation that is ripe for abuse, I think we should change the rules to clarify when turns end and begin (and to put in a time limit for posting a proposal).
jay, will you withdraw this invocation if I post exactly the same thing? I will also invoke tallus' question.
Withdrawn.
