The awarding of points is regulated by Rules 202, 204 and 206. Therefore, Rule 116 does not make awarding points permitted and unregulated. By awarding points in a manner not specified by Rules 202, 204, and 206, flatluigi acted contrary to rule 116, and therefore contrary to Rule 212 ("All decisions by Judges shall be in accordance with all the rules then in effect")
I ask Judge gerryblog to order a correction to the scores.
Judgment: In the absence of overwhelming necessity I am disinclined to overrule my esteemed predecessors, and respecting my sacred office I am reluctant to rule that there is anything a Judge cannot do. However, I find that ctmf is correct that flatluigi overstepped his bounds in awarding all players 1337 points outside of the regulations established by 202, 204, and 206, and hereby order that the scores be corrected.
Good job. Judges can't just do anything they feel like, this is in the rules. So the previous judgement was rubbish.
We shouldn't even need a new judgement for this. Judges can talk crap all they like but we don't have to listen to it from them any more than we do from anyone else. So the extra point awarding should just be ignored the same way it would be if I asserted that I now have exactly 200 points and have won the game.
