Winning the game

What are we playing for? Gerry, you have ruled that we have not won, even though we have acquired more than enough points for the rules' requirements. Furthermore, you have ruled that even if we win we continue playing.

What is the point of this game?

Hey man, it's the journey that matters, not the destination.

Exactly. Nomic is a game played by taking turns changing the rules, thus the very definition of winning is a moving target.

Further, the rules are quite specific on the victory conditions that are possible.

112. The state of affairs that constitutes winning may not be altered from achieving n points to any other state of affairs. The magnitude of n and the means of earning points may be changed, and rules that establish a winner when play cannot continue may be enacted and (while they are mutable) be amended or repealed.

Since n=200, this condition has not been achieved. I feel as though I've ruled on this question several times now.

The only other (possible) victory condition is a rules paradox. Since we are not anywhere near a rules paradox, this condition can be bracketed for now.

As for what is the point of this game, or why you are playing it, that's really above my pay grade. Only you can answer that question for yourself. I wish you luck in your journey for self-knowledge.

flatluigi, this is stupid. Give it up. If you don't want to play Nomic, then just quit.

We have walking here among mere mortals a judge of Hammurabic proportions. Surely in Nomic history, the name of Judge gerryblog will be immortal.
