Blog Madness

The NCAA basketball fans among us are excited to launch a new three-week mini-game featuring blog's actively cheering for teams in the 2006 Men's NCAA Basketball Championship. BlogShares players have helped us find blogs cheering for the teams involved, which you can see in our own brackets here.

To win each round, points are scored for each team based on transactions made on the blog. The more transactions, the higher the score. Winning blogs move on to the next round, and on April 5-6, we will crown the BlogShares National Blog Madness Champion. Read this forum thread for all the details. If you are a blogger whose blog is participating in this competition, please visit this page for a special greeting and information.

Raffle Winner; Premium Incentives; Player Promotions

Congratulations to Passer for holding the winning Albert Einstein raffle ticket (he bought about two-thirds of all tickets). Thanks again to tengrrl for sponsoring this! We've gotten a lot of questions from other players wanting to sponsor raffles, and we are more than happy to have them do so. If any player wishes to sponsor a raffle item, please contact an admin for more information.

A new promotion this month rewards completed Premium Membership purchases with chips. A monthly premium gains the buyer 1000 chips, a yearly premium is 5000. Gift Memberships are worth double to the buyer, 2000 and 10000 respectively. So if you were waiting for yet another reason to upgrade your account or do something nice for another player, this is the time to do so. This offer is good during the month of March 2006.

Several new players have taken on new roles over the last month. Congratulations to our newest Index Managers: Mina, Hildy, and Ryan Giggs. The Game Improvement Commission was launched with Bruce Wayne, tengrrl, and Passer, and today adds SpaceLord and Louie14. And filling the open seat on the BSEC will be long-time veteran Nexy, who has previously served proudly as an Index Manager. Welcome, everyone, and thank you for all you are doing for this site!
