The Administration and Board of Directors of BlogShares are very pleased to announce an event unlike any to ever take place in the BlogShares community. This very evening, at 8:00pm BlogShares game time, a conference will be convened, known hereafter as the 2006 BlogShares Idea Math Summit. We expect it to last anywhere from 1-2 hours, but may well go longer. You can access the Summit directly here.

There is an extensive Program Guide available, with a schedule, instructions, and dozens of links for more information on the night's subject. For those who are new to IRC, tengrrl was generous enough to create a few flash-demos to accompany the instructions. We'll have proposals on Ideas math from kucinichworldpeace and Passer, a history lesson in Ideas from MrPilot, technical information from SuburbanWolf, and the chartering of the new Game Improvement Commission.

In combination with this event, I'm launching a blogging contest, with a top reward of B$ cash, chips, and a Full Year of Premium Membership, donated by Rantzalot (Sir).

The Opening Ceremonies of the 2006 Olympics in Torino are here, and the blogosphere is showing up to keep us informed. You'll find several interesting blogs discussing the games in the BlogShares Olympics Industry. Highlights include James Martin's Olympics blog hosted by about.com, the Torino Olympic Games Blog, Jordan Jackson's Torino 06 Olympics Blog, and Jill Manty's 2006 Turin Winter Olympics Blog. Perhaps the most unusual one is Jake Serino's Bode By Jake blog, hosted on nbcolympics.com. Serino is a friend of controversial U.S. ski racer Bode Miller, and plans to blog his experiences as he follows Miller around during this global sports spectacular.
