If you link to BlogShares, put your userid in the URL to get five (5) free chips when you send someone new to our site.

You can spend these chips on ads on our front page and various raffles, with more in the works.
The system tracks IPs, so any given user will only be able to give you (or any other BlogShares member) one award in any 8 hour period.

I like this idea, but I think it would be better to implement the 'referer' parameter on all pages, not just the front one... after all, most people presumably link to BlogShares through their "Listed on BlogShares" button, which links to their blog on blogs.php, so it would be great if we can earn chips there instead of just the front page :-)
