One area of the index that has troubled us at times was the inclusion of non-blog entities such as blog hosts. As of this evening, and per the direction of the Board of Directors, all non-blog entities are being removed from our index permanently. This includes such long-time favorites as MSN Spaces main page and Blogger. We’re moving towards a more realistic ranking of sites indexed in BlogShares. It will be very interesting to see just what blogs comprise our Top 100 from this point forward. If players wish to discuss this event, please do in the forum.

Are You Ready For Some Football Blogs? Or A Raffle?
Football season is upon us here in the US, with both college and pro teams now fully engaged in regular season. BlogShares’ index has grown greatly since the last football season, including the additions of College Football and NFL to the American Football Industry. Know of a good football blog not listed on BlogShares? Add it!
The Blues world lost one of its most infamous performers, Clarence ‘Gatemouth’ Brown. Gatemouth had recently lost his home in the Hurricane Katrina disaster, and died this morning in the company of his family. BlogShares currently tracks 16 blogs in the Blues Industry, and several will undoubtly offer posts about Gatemouth’s story, one worthy of telling in a blues song all its own.
BlogShares is once again raffling some cool hardware, this time something for the user on the go. MrPilot has donated a brand new 64MB USB flash drive from Micro Advantage. The drive is USB 2.0 compatible and is a great tool for moving your documents, pictures, or songs quickly from point to point. Check it out on the Raffles page.
Update: Congrats to the raffle winner, News Writer!
